I would like to start by introducing myself to all the people of Utah. I am Ven. Douangphanet Mingsisouphanh. Since July 29, 2007, I have moved to a new Wat. There are many people who do not understand the reason for the move. There were many questions that I have been asked and I would like to address some of those questions.

Question 1: Where is the new temple located and where have you moved to?
Answer: The new temple (wat) is located at 7010 West Parkway Blvd. West Valley City, UT 84128. I have been in Utah for more than 3 years and have grown very fond of the people here. Because of this, I have chosen to remain in Utah and have moved to this new location.

Question 2: Who purchased the new Wat?
Answer: The purchase of the new Wat was made possible by donations of many generous people. These donators were able to help pick the new Wat site and determine if it would be a good location.

Question 3: How many acres was purchased, how much did it cost and how much was the down payment?
Answer: The property that was purchased is 2.33 acres. The full purchase price was $280,000.00. The amount of the down payment was $47,575.93, leaving a total of $231.200.00 remaining on the loan.

Question 4: Where did the money come from?
Answer: The following is a breakdown of where the money was allocated:

• Donations                 $8,000.00
• No Interest Loan    $53,500.00
• TOTAL                     $61,500.00
• Down Payment       $47,575.93
• Remaining               $13,924.07
• Monthly Mortgage      $1,696.46

Question 5: Is there a house for the monks to live in?
Answer: The property currently has a mobile home. All of the monks live in this mobile home.

Question 6: Will this new Wat have temple festivals, such as Boun and Thukh Baht? Answer: The new Wat will hold gatherings. For the time being, festivals will be held at other locations, such as restaurants or halls. Because this area is new to having a Wat, the noise must be limited.

Question 7: Is there land available for interested people to donate and sponsor? Answer: Yes, because there is 2.33 acres, interested people are able to choose how much to sponsor. Anyone may sponsor land for $10 per square foot.

Question 8: Will there be a monthly membership donation for the new Wat?
